Geologists work to understand the history and processes of the Earth. These discoveries help drive how we use the resources of our planet and what actions can be taken to sustain our planet for future generations. Beyond identifying rocks, geologists study the different geochemical cycles (i.e. water, carbon, rock), use geologic history to help in biology, identify sources of natural resources, and much more.

Kansas Groundwater Geopaths consists of a 3-year groundwater study supported via National Science Foundation (NSF) funding. Participants include Kansas State University, ISBµç×Ó, and Dodge City Community College. Detailed information concerning the Geopaths study residesÌý.
KSU-LSAMP
TheÌýÌýis a National Science Foundation program that assists colleges and universities in diversifying the workforce entering STEM fields by supporting institutions’ efforts to increase the numbers of students that successfully complete baccalaureate degrees in these fields.
The Kansas Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (KS-LSAMP) promotes recruitment and retention programs throughout Kansas in support of increasing the success of underrepresented minority students (URMs) in STEM fields.

ISBµç×Ó'sÌýGeologyÌýcurriculum is designed to provide the general education requirement and core GeologyÌýcourses for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor's degree inÌýGeology. Electives must meet the requirements of theÌýtransferÌýinstitution. Students should coordinate with their advisor for transfer requirements.
